Coconut and two of its clients had cause for celebration today as they found out the results of the national Franchise Marketing Awards 2013. The FMAs recognise the industry’s most innovative and effective marketing campaigns. The awards are judged by an independent panel of experts, who reward organisations that have raised their public awareness and as a result have achieved sustainable growth.

Mac Tools had entered the Best Overall Marketing Campaign, Best Print Advertisement and Best PR Campaign categories. They were finalists in all the categories and went on to win the Best Overall Marketing Campaign award. Mac Tools have been a full service client of Coconut Creatives and Coconut Media since November 2011 and has recruited over 30 new franchisees to their network during that time.

“We are absolutely delighted to win this award. The team have worked extremely hard to understand and connect with our target market through exciting marketing campaigns. Our franchisees benefit every day from our marketing activities, supporting them to take market share and achieve growth in a difficult economic climate. Our passion and drive is directed towards enabling our franchisees to be great to work with, therefore it’s fantastic for the team to receive recognition for a job well done,” says Tony Prueitt, Commercial Director UK & Ireland at Stanley Black & Decker.

Another well-known brand Baskin-Robbins, was also a finalist in all the of the award categories that they entered: Best Print Advertisement and Best Overall Marketing Campaign. A full service client with Coconut since Summer 2012, they were pleased to have been recognised for their franchise marketing efforts since they launched their plan to increase their network of ice-cream speciality stores in the UK last year.

“Everyone at Baskin-Robbins UK is delighted to have been shortlisted for the Franchise Marketing Awards and would like to congratulate all the winners. It is very important to have a strong franchise recruitment marketing campaign with a consistent and clear message across all activities, being shortlisted in both the best print advertisement and best overall campaign shows that we are doing just that. This will ultimately build a stronger franchise network for us. We are also very pleased to be working with Sally Butters and her team from Coconut Creatives on all our franchise recruitment activity,” says Jim Johnstone, UK Managing Director at Baskin-Robbins.

Sarah Cook and Sally Butters report on their experience of the Smith & Henderson Franchise Recruitment Summit.

Coconut Creatives founder, Sarah Cook attended and spoke at the Smith & Henderson Franchise summit this week . However the Franchisors attending the event had a double dose of Coconut as Sally Butters, Head of Coconut Media also attended as a key speaker.

The event was a huge success and provided a range of franchisors with excellent learning opportunities to become up to date on marketing techniques for franchise recruitment.

Sarah Cook shared some detailed and best practice thinking of what types of franchise recruitment marketing is working now. The franchisors that attended took away some useful hints and tips to implement over the busy Autumn recruitment season – the timing couldn’t be better.

Sally presented on the areas of effective PR techniques and had even researched some of the franchisors in the audience (which was shared during the event!).

Overall, Steven Frost from Smith & Henderson put on an exceptional day and we would like to thank him for providing a much needed summit on the topic of franchise recruitment.
