Setting up Strategic Affiliations
Have you ever considered working alongside a competitor?
Have you thought of taking advantage of another company’s database?
Do you know which businesses serve the same customers as you with a complimentary product or service?
We have and therefore so have our clients.
A strategic affiliation occurs when 2 companies (or more!) want to help each other in some way to achieve a mutual goal. They can come in many forms and here are a few examples:
- Teaming FitKid Franchise with Subway Franchise to offer children’s party activities through FitKid and party food from Subway (benefitting both brands and franchisees offering another service with an up/cross sell opportunity).
- Setting up a lead referral scheme between Platinum Property Partners franchise and Martin & Co franchise.
- Safeclean and EnviroVent joined forces to launch new services with the aim of developing leads for both franchise networks.
In the Franchise Industry, lead swapping is becoming a much more popular and cost effective activity and a great addition to the Franchise Recruitment Marketing Plan.
If you decide to undertake lead swapping, you must ensure that you follow the correct procedure so that you do not break data protection law. We always encourage Franchisors to work within the right ethical and sales process guidelines which will mean a positive win/ win for everyone involved.
This is a key discussion point at many Coconut Creatives workshops as most Franchisors have a vast database of leads they have invested considerable funds to achieve and this not only helps the individuals on the list find the right franchise opportunity for them but also helps the Franchisor monetise an otherwise dead lead.
