Marketing Executive

A Geordie with a southern accent, don’t let this sparkly Coconut confuse you. Tough on the outside, with a penchant for heels and chocolate, Steph is a writer to the core – to write is to breathe, “If I don’t provoke some kind of response or reaction when you’re reading what I’ve written, I need to start again!”

Over the years this has ranged from creating and editing a teenage girls magazine, her first published book, blog posts, articles, and anything in between, for a variety of voices she has represented over the last 20 plus years. Steph’s creativity has also led to the development of shareable social media content – generating shareable designs to enhance the message, which she believes is a crucial aspect of effective communication. Steph’s eye for detail, and a determination to be better than she was “this time last year”, means she won’t ever just settle for anything less than excellent, for anything she works on. So having her join the Coconut Team in 2017 is creating a copywriting dream team all round, “As a new Coconut, I’m looking forward to seeing how I can develop the written word on Coconut, and our clients, using my creativity to enhance the brilliance of what coconut already produces, as well as growing as a writer.”

Spare time:

In her spare time, Steph writes! Literally her head is like a browser with a zillion tabs open at the same time, with lots of crazy ideas floating around, waiting to be implemented and developed. And like any good writer, reading with a candle lit, the fire on, a glass of something chilled, and wrapped in a fluffy, cozy blanket is a perfect way to shut down some of these tabs…or at least, minimise them. She also loves a good girls night out, music and cocktails are not optional, and looking out for new shoes to add to her collection.

Brainy bits:

Steph has a BA Humanities (Creative Writing and Psychology) from the University of Glamorgan. As a writer, Steph’s biggest successes are, starting and developing a teenage girls magazine which ran for 10 years, and each issue was bought by at least 25,000 girls and young women, as well as being passed on to thousands more; and the book publishing deal she secured in 2012 – the first of 4 other writing projects she personally has on the go. When it comes to Social Media, Steph has been asked to kick-start various accounts, and offer training to those just starting out in their own social media journey.

Copywriting, blogging, Social Media, training people new to writing, anything that is pink and sparkly, and Wonder Woman!
